Welcome to
Pt Chevalier

Coyle PArk - Pt Chev

I've been privileged to call Point Chevalier my home for as long as I can remember. From attending schools here to now seeing my own children thrive in this community, and with both my immediate and extended family settled here, Pt Chev holds a special place in my heart.

Our Local Guide:
Point Chevalier

Situated idyllically on a peninsula just 6 kilometers west from downtown Auckland, Point Chevalier has established itself as one of Auckland's best family neighbourhoods.

As I've grown older, I've come to appreciate just how fortunate I am to have been raised in an area that offers such a wealth of amenities and green spaces. Pt Chevalier and its close neighbouring suburbs provide an exceptional quality of life, with public transport links, cyclist-friendly roads & tracks, and the stunning coastal setting offering a number of scenic walking paths.

Families in our area have access to a diverse range of preschool options, from public Kindergartens to privately-run daycares, not to mention the invaluable resource of the Toy Library on Formby Ave. We're fortunate to be within the zones of educational institutions such as Pt Chevalier School, Pasadena Intermediate, and Western Springs College, while also having access to other nearby schools such as St Francis Primary, and transport links to St Marys and St Peters, and a host of private schools from our local bus stops.

We’re lucky enough to have MOTAT and Auckland Zoo close enough to hear the siamangs roar, and Pt Chevalier is also home to a vibrant culinary scene – bursting with cafes and restaurants dotted down the length of Pt Chevalier Road, with an array of eateries and local producers offering everything from mouth-watering cookies to award-winning gin.

When it comes to recreational activities, our community is truly spoiled for choice. From the bustling Coyle Park overlooking Pt Chevalier Beach to the Eric Armshaw Reserve and its accompanying playground, there's no shortage of spaces for locals to enjoy. Walker Park offers year round sports facilities for various age groups such as rugby, football and cricket, is also home to the Pt Chevalier Athletics meets through summer. Water sports enthusiasts can take advantage of the Pt Chevalier Sailing Club on Raymond St for lessons or social meets. A short trip down Meola Rd leads to Western Springs Football Club, and 5km Park Runs held each Saturday at Western Springs Reserve.

For those seeking further social and sporting engagements, the Hallyburton Johnstone Sports Complex is a hub of activity, housing tennis, bowling, and croquet clubs that cater to all ages and skill levels, along with their social scenes offering everything from the humble Friday night sausage sizzle to members nights, bingo and quiz nights. Additionally, local halls host Scout and Guide meetings, fostering a sense of community spirit.

Point Chevalier isn't just a place to live – it's a community filled with opportunities for growth, recreation, and connection.
